The joy and rapturous positivity in this record is in direct opposition to so much of what traditional Metal has been about. I guess the staples and foundational blocks of Doom, Death, dissonance, and darkness just wouldn’t fit a band called “The Glory Ensemble”. But don't wash the corpse paint from your face just yet - - and don’t start expecting sappy Hair ballads and Top 40 treacle; Enzo and his crew deliver plenty of muscle and heaviness with their smiles, at high decibels.
Enzo Donnarumma was right to call this an "Ensemble." The full assembled roster totals out at about 18 performers, including Marty Friedman and various personnel from Fates Warning, Orphaned Land, Primal Fear, and a bunch more.
So allow yourself to be transported from your comfort zone, and bask in the light of this. Not just for your own enjoyment; do it “In the Name of the World Spirit.” The experience is glorious.
Highlights: “Nothingness (It's Everyone's Fate),” “Try To Put In Pit The Fear.”
