Third album from Satan’s Wrath who tore a page out of the Venom, Slayer, and especially Possessed 80s handbook of early thrash/ black metal for their formula. Satan’s Wrath organized this hybrid well as the vocal are understandable, yet evil, and the production is well balanced with all instruments heard and separated in the mix. ‘Raised On Sabbaths’ and ‘Satanic War’ are crafted from the “Seven Churches” (Possessed) template forged with red hot fires of hell behind the riffery, straight ahead drums, and venomous vocals. ‘Diabolical Shudder’ incorporates these really tasteful evil dual harmonizing leads, the rhythm switches a couple times to include a groove and variety inside the 3:39 seconds of wickedness. I even hear old Mercyful Fate at times given the guitar parts. Really good stuff. O my God, if the build and delivery to the title track is not somewhere between Slayer’s “Show No Mercy” album and ‘Behind The Crooked Cross’, then nothing is. Great solo and rhythm switch towards the end. Well done of wearing influence on your sleeve, while being one’s self. ‘Coffinlust’ is straight forward and basic like some old Venom, while the closing four that follow keep within the Possessed playbook.
