Third effort from Mexican traditional metallers. They know their strong suit is the music, not Anglo lyrics, and construct songs as such. There’s a reason they’re signed to a German label! In a change from the “Street Law” album, these nine proper songs are predominately mid-paced, with gritty vocals, occasionally punctuated by top end screams, courtesy of new singer Gian Carlo Farjat. The short, opening instrumental, ‘Arrival Of The Gunslinger’ begins with acoustic guitar atop a soundscape of windswept Old West ghost town, leading into ‘Danger Zone’.

They really don’t hit stride until the straight ahead ‘March Of The Dead’, sung almost exclusively in the higher register (and double tracked), it hides the off kilter vocals more apparent elsewhere. It features an acoustic break, with backing flamenco highlights. The title track has passages with plenty of space for guitars, while the words to a speedy ‘Sinner’ are basically the titular phrase. A more refined effort, in both composition and delivery. Maybe next time…
