OK, I’m a jaded old fuck who saw the band back at the start (actually, I saw them at the Old Brooklyn Tavern, in Ohio, for the debut, Mustaine puking his guts out on the side of the stage). The prospect of reliving "Rust In Peace", with the current line-up (Chris Broderick is a monster guitarist and such a nice human being) can’t be missed.

The band launch straight into said album, chronologically. In the two decades since its release most of these tunes have become revolving staples of the ‘Deth live set (exceptions being ‘Poison Was The Cure’ and ‘Dawn Patrol’). With accent firmly on guitars throughout, this sums up the best parts of the 80s for those who weren’t there (even if originally released in ’90): aggression, blistering musicianship and good headbanging riffs/songs. Mustaine would forgo them all in chasing the elusive dollar, although since signing to Roadrunner seems to have righted the ol’ ship Megadeth.

Once through the classic material, he throws the younger set a few bones, namely the less than stellar ‘Trust’ and ‘She-Wolf’. Neither will make anyone forget the complete omission of debut material and only the concert closing, title cut off "Peace Sells But Who’s Buying?" Guess my definitive Megadeth concert is still out there, somewhere. For now, I’m content to join the masses and enjoy (most of) this disc. An enthusiastic crowd can be heard shouting/singing throughout.
