The label has been on a winning streak of late, so decided to try out these heretofore unknown (as are most of their bands) Brazilian act, sporting guest appearances by Jon Oliva, Zak Stevens (Circle II Circle), Edu Falaschi (Angra) and Roland Grapow (Masterplan, ex-Helloween). Actually, there’s a host of musicians and no less than 20 (!) vocalists (including female voice) joining drummer Heleno Vale to make his metal opera come true. Once upon a time, Germany was the sole province of this type of music, gradually leaked to Sweden and eventually South America, more precisely, Brazil. That said, the title cut, which is the first real song (following ‘The Entrance’ intro) possesses a more aggressive, American sound, ala Symphony X, circa "Paradise Lost".

Of the eight, non-intro compositions, all but ‘Forest Of Incantus’ (4:11) and ‘Adrift’ (4:49) clock in well in excess of six minutes. ‘Dark Princes Dawn’ is predominately a gallop, start to finish. ‘Into The Arc Of Time’ seems tailor made for Oliva (perhaps he wrote it?), sounding close to old Savatage. Won’t make anyone forget Avantasia, but a nice progressive/power metal effort, with a pair of sequels already in the planning stage (including Blaze Bayley’s participation). Watch for it.
