Starting with a 9:28 title cut, the eleven selections herein vary between Sammet singing in duet with the cast of characters, or on occasion, all but completely giving the mic over to his guest, as is the case on the most metallic offering, ‘Scales Of Justice’ featuring Tim Owens, giving the Ripper a chance to stretch his vocal chords on ear piercing screams. First single, ‘Dying For An Angel’ sports an appearance by countryman Klaus Meine, sounding like a mid-tempo commercial rocker (ie. outtake) from the Scorpions just issued "Sting In The Tail". The piano begun power ballad ‘Runaway Train’ is almost nine minutes long! The staccato, modern modulated crunch of ‘Crestfallen’ is punctuated by a searing guitar solo, but of little other use. ‘Forever Is A Long Time’ sees Jorn Lande (Masterplan/ex-Ark) reprise his role from ‘The Scarecrow’.
Hopefully Part II will be a little more lively/consistent.
