Being new to this band I went into this not knowing what to expect. If I knew this was the side-project of three of the four members (Vocalist M, guitarist Zoltán Valter, and drummer Pete Christopher) of the US death metal band Dimentianon, I would have known it was definitely not going to be disappointing. Taking influences from Swedish greats Grave, Dismember and even some from Canada's Kataklysm they deliver quality brutal headbanging Death Metal.

The opening track ‘A Lonely Grasp of Winter’ is the best track on the album offering brutal chug-along riffs, lots of double bass, and a epic melodic section that anyone who is a big admirer of melodeath will highly enjoy. ‘My Love of Decay’ and ‘Behind My Eyes’ have a more thrashy death feel offering some pretty sweet melodic solos and spine-chilling death growls from vocalist M. You will find hardly any blast beats on this album, only a few in the blackish death track ‘Village of the Sun’ including a very well put together bass riff in the middle during one of the Zoltán Valter's mind-melting guitar solos. There are even some depressing doom metal elements on the album in the title track (‘Outro’) which was huge delight to hear as I am an avid fan of doom.

In the end this was a very impressive seven song debut from this Death Metal outfit and look forward to future releases from them and hope to see them live one day as well.
