There is a hint of a pop rock sound on this ballad-less, almost dance-able at times album, but most songs boast a strong melody. Strong symphonic elements and big epic sounds and keyboards are found throughout; no lead guitars or solos. Incognito title track ‘One Bullet’ is the weakest on the disc.
Due to the symphonic-heavy sound of each song, introducing a few lead guitar parts would be a welcome addition to add some variety and distinction to their style. Final track ‘Death of a Movie Star’, admittedly their own ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, stands apart from the rest with dynamics and varied rhythms as one of the best on the album.
Strong debut – Delain fans take notice.
