Wow, what an eccentric performance! Vocally, a trio of approaches, from screaming/crying nth degree Dani Filth to a more typical growl and sporadic doses of clean vocals, Anaal Nathrakh are a speaker shred-fest. Can literally see the cones succumbing to the aural onslaught throughout. More tortured vocalizations on ‘I Am The Wrath Of Gods And The Desolation Of Earth Music’ (What’s with the preponderance of overblown titles in black metal lately?)
Like label mates 1349, a lot of incoherent screams, strangulations, this isn’t mainstream Dimmu/Cradle black metal-lite.
This is the real McCoy, in all its unpleasant offal. Beware!
