Funny, members of an Alpine nation (Switzerland) titling their record after the world’s loftiest peak. Symbolism? Maybe, but certainly not true! Surviving for more than a decade, but only now seeing a domestic release (album #7 overall), this dozen is passable third-tier AC/DC worship, at best. Definitely not in the league with Bullet, nor Airborne, but upon slowing down recall 80s rock/pop metal acts like Dirty Looks or White Lion (acoustic ballad “Why,” good question!).

With raspy voice and big bass/drum sound, the liveliest moments work well, unfortunately they bookend a rather lackluster platter: the opening ‘Ashes To Ashes’ and near disc end trio of a gritty ‘Dirty Money’ and ‘Right Between The Eyes’ and ‘Insanity’.  Elsewhere, there’s a bluesy guitar swagger in ‘Love & Pain’ (a synopsis of the lyrical content throughout Everest) but precious little to get excited about, given the proclivity to long running, better known entities. The concluding piano laced snooze-fest ‘Hopeless’ is an accurate depiction.
