Primal Fear – The History of Fear

Label: Nuclear Blast
Format: CD
Released: 2003

The history begins in 1998 when the eye of the eagle was just a glimmer in the metal audience’s eye. Captured is a Live concert filmed at Wacken Open Air 2001as well as several performances from the 2002 Black Sun Tour. Both picture and sound quality are clear as a bell with multiple camera shots capturing how tight the band is. “Running in the Dust”, “Angel in Black”, and Armageddon” are brought to life with “Fear” I feel being the perfect representation of the bands precision and attack. On the studio discs is a great representation of what they sound like Live but after seeing this DVD you obviously get a better feel for what they are about. Ralf Scheepers also gets to prove that he has the stuff behind the mic and not a creation in the studio.

There are also several bootleg performances from around the world at various festivals, like their first U.S. performance at the New Jersey Metalfest. Plus two promo videos and a bonus audio cd of the Wacken show.

A thorough look at the many journeys the eagle has taken over the course of three studio records and consistent road work.
