While Death Metal heavy weights such as Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, and Cryptopsy are still releasing solid but predictable albums and adding to their discography, I feel it is bands like Vader, Behemoth, and Hypocrisy that are pu shin g the envelope with each release. Vader has me on the edge of my seat with each new release and that's the way I like it. In my opinion Vader are the current champions of Death Metal and stand strongly at the top of the mountain.

A fter listening to “Impressions in Blood” I truly believe this may be the bands strongest release to date. To hold us over between albums and crave our hunger the band released “The Art of War” EP which was great. That EP truly got me excited for the release of this album and listening to it blew away all my expectations as I sit here as toni shed.

The album opens up with the intro “Between Day and Night” setting the atmosphere for what is about to be unleashed. Following the intro “ShadowFear” rips into you and is a traditional Vader track all the way featuring killer guitar work and puni shin g vocals. “As Heavens Collide…” has the power and sheer force to be the perfect permanent opening song for Vader's live set. The album crushes from beginning to end and will have you in a head banging frenzy. The guitar work throughout is amazing (IE: “They Live!!!” and “The Book”), and makes me realize how many of today's D eath M etal bands are missing this in their formula. I cannot wait to see Vader in support of this masterpiece. I can see Poland 's finest band now commanding the stage while the fans right up front will be banging their heads beyond belief and the rest of the audience will be taking part in a very intense mosh pit.

Kudos to Vader for releasing another gem.   The boys show no signs of slowing down but only getting stronger.  The band recently shot a video for the track "Helleluyah!!! (God is Dead)" so be sure to look out for that in your metal video outlet and start letting MTV know a band like this needs to be played on Headbanger's Ball.
