Cannibal Corpse – Kill Reviewer: Rich Cannibal Corpse release their tenth studio album simply, and appropriately titled “Kill”. With riffs and a production like this it will make you want tear off your arm and beat someone with it. The titles continue to be equally creative…”Five Nails Through the Neck” and “Submerged in Boiling Flesh” while this time around the music has more creative life in it. Like re energized Cannaibal Corpse as the lead off track “The Time to Kill is Now” grabs you instantly with some of their strongest and most concise riffing. Now no two albums are any different from the next, maybe just better songs at that time and production depending on the release. Its Death Metal Cannibal Corpse style. What is noticeable is the amount of technical guitar work (“ Necrosadistic Warning”) on this disc. There is also less emphasis on blast beats and more attention to straight ahead ear ripping crunchy rhythms and various tempo changes. The band has nicely demonstrated progress with their arrangements and come up with some killer riff driven head smashing Death Metal. The variety to the compositions is a much welcomed addition to Cannibal Corpse because after a while it all does sound like one long song. Something like “Death Walking Terror” and its rather basic Production on “Kill” is also some of the best they have done as the wall of riffing is balanced and separated and vocals do not get buried amongst the full arrangements.
